Staff  Training

Due to Staff Training the practice will be closed tomorrow Monday 1st December.  We apologise for any inconvenience.

Christmas Preparations

With Christmas fast approaching most of us have at least one list of things we have to do – order the turkey, buy that special present for Aunt Margery, clean the carpets etc.
For contact lens wearers it’s very easy to get so caught up in the festivities that you forget to check you have a sufficient supply of lenses and solutions (if you use them). Occasional wearers should also remember that they tend to use more lenses during the party season.
Don’t be caught out, order your Christmas lenses now.

What’s your name little Wolf?

Guess the name of our Little Wolf and you could win your own Little wolf. To enter visit the practice and fill in a competition form.  (competition now closed).

Paul Harries Opticians were proud to sponsor and support our Post Man, Vince Bailey when he ran the Edinburgh Marathon for Prostate Cancer UK, in an amazing 3 Hours and 16 minutes.

Vince ran the marathon for a really great cause and the moment I heard that he was running I was keen to sponsor him and to help raise funds for this worthy cause. With the generosity of our patients and others Vince was able to raise over £1,000 for a really great cause.

Maui Jim Open Day

It’s amazing how quickly time goes by – it seems only yesterday we were getting excited planning our first Maui Jim Day and now we’re starting to change the practice into an Hawaiian island in readiness of this year’s event on March 20th.  Those who attended last year enjoyed the opportunity of viewing the entire Maui Jim range and experiencing Maui Jim’s unique Polarized Plus 2 lenses first hand in a relaxed party atmosphere.  For those who came last year and would like to come again or if you missed last year’s event and would like to try a pair of Maui Jim, the event will run from 10.30am to 3.30pm.

Sight Care Conference

On Monday 3 March, Paul & Elena attended the Sight Care 2014 Conference at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole.  Paul Harries Opticians are proud to be a member of the Sight Care group and attending the annual conference gives our team insights that allow us to give our patients an even greater level of service.

Thank You

Paul & Margaret would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who sponsored them for the Charity Walk a few weeks ago.  They both managed to complete the walk for Fight for Sight and in the process raised for this great cause £700 .

It was a great event and my feet were sore the next few days. I want to thank everyone who supported us in our fund-raising efforts including our ever supportive patients and suppliers including Spectrum Thea, Lenstec, Relcon and Charmant. Once my feet have recovered I will consider what fund-raising activities to do next but it will definitely be an activity that won’t leave me with blisters again.
